| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the "preferred lies" that some golf courses play which makes it "[im]possible to have a less-than-perfect lie in the fairway. In essence...a ball landing in a fairway should be guaranteed a perfect lie." Discusses the importance of "golf turf managers to improve playing conditions...but not guarantee the golfer a perfect lie." Suggests that "it is not the responsibility of the golf course superintendent to tailor course conditioning to a particular golfer's desires" and instead the golfer should "play the course as they find it." |
