Abstract/Contents:Collecting organics has the capability of effecting the current solid waste system. There are only 2 composting plants in the U.S. They are located in Swift and Filmore counties in Minnesota. These counties have ordinances which require the separation of garbage into 3 cateogories: organics, recyclables, and garbage.
