Abstract/Contents: | Describes how the attitude towards the pesticide controversies surrounding the golf course industry is continuing to grow within the public. States that superintendents will have to again base management programs on sound cultural practices. The major concern is with the golfer. Slight blemishes or inconsistent playing surfaces will have to be tolerated. "However, pesticides should not be used as a crutch to help overcome major cultural deficiences or to meet unrealistic demands." |
