| Abstract/Contents: | These tests were conducted in 1992 at the Iowa State Turfgrass Research center. The objective was to investigate the effectiveness of several postemergence herbicides on crabgrass on South Dakota Common Kentucky bluegrass. Phytotoxicity ratings were made throughout the test. Slight phytotoxicity was observed from the Dimension and Acclaim treatments, (#3 and #15) applied on 5/27. Similar treatments applied 6/23 showed no damage, and no other phytotoxicity was observed. "The crabgrass population was very high in the control plots (Table 13). Control with most materials was satisfactory. What appears to be a drop in crabgrass populations in more plots between the 8/28 and 10/1 rating dates is due to frost kill of crabgrass and fall growth of the bluegrass in September." A table included records all dates and results of this study. |
