Abstract/Contents:"Many experts recognize Kentucky bluegrass as the basic foundation in turf mixtures. Over the past two decades, new grass species have emerged on the turf scene that have pulled attention away from bluegrass." These new species of grasses have many pitfalls which are described. Benefits of bluegrass, along with recommended seed mixture ratios for creating a bluegrass base are also discussed.
