| Abstract/Contents: | Louisville Country Club suffered seven inches of rain with day time temperatures above 90F degrees for twenty-two days. From this, almost two acres of grass was lost. These dead areas were seeded with Seaside and Penncross bentgrass by using a Roger seeder. Ryegrass was broadcasted for insurance. Within six days the seeds started to germinate, but the weather conditions were no better. By the sixth week, the bentgrass and ryegrass germination was the best looking turf. By the next year, they were renovating the fairways by using the same mixtures. |
