Abstract/Contents: | In studies of growth and flower induction in brome grass, it was found that tillering took place in long days following a period in short days Phases in tiller development were defined and it was found that a period of flower induction in short days was related to decreased shoot length. After the juvenile stage, flower induction in tillers by short days took about 1 week in favourable conditions. A long-day stage in flower induction also lasted about 1 week and ended in transformation of a vegetative stem apex to a flowering one. |
