Abstract/Contents:"Many trends already in progress, a decline in chemical and soluble fertilizer use and wider acceptance of IPM techniques, for instance, will continue into the year 2000 and beyond, says Dr. James Watson, vice president, customer relations for Toro Corp. Among his predictions: Chemical and soluble fertilizer use will decline-not stop, but frequency and volume will be less; Integrated pest management techniques will be more widely accepted. Architects and managers will promote higher tolerance of a little disease and insect pressure; Varieties requiring less water and fertilizer, which breeders are working on now, will be available; Organic-based fertilizers will be more widely used."
