Abstract/Contents: | "Scientific monitoring should be treated as a management tool to provide a guide to help the turf manager repeatedly prepare pitches of a high standard. The measurement techniques are simple and once mastered can be quickly completed as part of the standard pitch process with savings in time and effort during preparation - very much a case of doing the right thing at the right time and doing it well. Pitch preparation in no longer a 'black box' because there are clearly defined targets to meet. Once reached, these targets will ensure an acceptable end result." |
