Abstract/Contents:Introduces the benefits of golf course turfgrass, based on research studies. Includes: reduction of topsoil loss from wind and water erosion, absorption and filtration of rain and runoff water, capture and cleaning of runoff water in urban areas, improvement of soil and restoration of damaged areas, improvement of air quality and moderation of temperature, reduction of noise, glare, and visual pollution, the creation and enhancement of wildlife habitat, the enhancement of the physical health of golfers, and the contributions of golf to community economies.
