| Abstract/Contents: | Reports results of research on two plant growth regulators (Embark and MBR 18337) to determine effects when applied on Poa annua and Lolium perenne. Plots (1.5 x 1.5m) of both species were sprayed (CO2 sprayer at 75 gal/acre) with 1, 2, or 3 applications of material and rated (1-9 visual scale) for color, seedhead suppression, and overall quality. Embark and MBR 18337 appeared to be more phytotoxic to Poa annua than Lolium perenne after three applications but both grasses produced darker, higher quality turf with one application alone after two weeks of initial discoloration. Seedhead suppression increased with the number of applications. |
