Abstract/Contents:"High temperature stress is the main limiting factor affecting plant growth. Global warming aggravates the negative effects of high temperature on plant growth. Festuca arundinacea is a cold season perennial herb. In recent years, the mechanism of high temperature stress on Festuca has attracted many researchers common attention. In this paper, the heat tolerance of different varieties of Festuca arundinacea and the effects of high temperature stress on morphology, physiology and biochemistry, metabolism and molecular expression of Festuca arundinacea were reviewed. The negative effects of high temperature stress on Festuca arundinacea was mainly elaborated: high temperature stress reduced plant root vitality, underground biomass and leaf middle leaves. The results showed that the content of green pigment decreased, the activity of antioxidant enzymes decreased, osmotic regulation was damaged and secondary metabolism was disturbed. In this review, we summarize the methods of heat stress mitigation by additives and discuss new directions for future studies."
