USGA Summary Points:Evaluations are continuing for the 2021 Seeded Zoysia SPN Our collaboration with Johnston Seed Company in Enid, OK has resulted in identifying elite lines which have been used to form two synthetic and one recombination block in late 2021. The result of this work has encouraged us to produce a two-parent synthetic block which was sprigged in July 2022 in Dallas, TX in anticipation of producing enough seed yield to enter as a synthetic line in the 2024 NTEP Zoysiagrass Trial A great effort was invested in summer 2022 which evaluated seedhead traits and yield components from the synthetic and recombination blocks planted in Dallas, TX; germination was similar between seed treated with and without chemical scarification; timing of harvest needs to be more closely evaluated to improve germination percentages Our collaboration with Woerner Turf in southern Alabama has been fruitful as we continue to receive feedback about the strip trials and SPN with some potential elite lines
