Abstract/Contents: | "Once again this is the time of year when the board of directors or owners, sit down and reflect on the role of the golf course superintendent, the pro, the manager, and the general financial health of the golf course...Every year there are numerous clubs that feel that a full time superintendent isn't necessary and search for an alternative method." What the owners or directors of these clubs need to realize is that getting rid of or cutting back the hours of the superintendent only hurts the overall profitablity and productivity of the club. "The 'economic alternative' mentality has no place whatsoever on any site that resembles a golf course, and will only lead to serious trouble." |
