Abstract/Contents: | "No matter what we do, our bentgrass will always suffer heat stress during the summer months." Although heat stress might be unavoidable during the summer, the best defense is to start the summer off with healthy turf. The author's preparations for the upcoming summer start with aerification and fertilizer applications in the fall, with the fertilizer also being applied during the winter months. During the spring and summer, fertilization is kept to a minimum. Heat stress might be relieved by aerifying or spiking, and good water management is also of great importance. |
