Abstract/Contents:The clerks of the Nottingham and Warwick racecourses have been sending details of daily rainfall and irrigation to ADAS for analysis in an effort to establish an "irriguide" to help plan irrigation systems. "ADAS in conjunction with the Jockey Club, is also working on a 'going meter', to be worn on the heel of a boot. The aim is to provide a statistical readout of going, which could be combined with irriguide data to make irrigation more efficient."
