| Abstract/Contents: | Includes: An outline of pertinent information regarding the evaluation of irrigation needs, varying irrigations systems and installation of the system. A 12 step plan for the planning and selection of the optimal equipment is given, elucidating the first two steps. The importance of discussing irrigation with all possible concerned parties is stressed. Caution is urged when the desire to cut costs leads to installing a "cheaper" system, when expierience shows that such systems always prove more costly in the long run. All component parts of an irrigation system need be compatible with one another, sufficient pumping capacity must be insured, and installation must be done only by an educated, trained expert. Only the highest quality system should be installed in order to insure future conservation of water and reduced upkeep costs. |
