Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the benefits of incorporating low-voltage lighting in the design of landscapes. In addition to the added safety and reduced liability, lighting can provide wonderful aesthetic effects to the evening landscape. "Bart Wilruth of Specialty Lamp International in Ft, Lauderdale, predicts low-voltage lighting will dominate the industry after October, 1995, when federal legislation will outlaw bulbs like hard glass reflector outdoor floodlights. Most bulbs in high-voltage systems will have to be replaced with halogen or fluorescent sources, but for the most part low-voltage bulbs will not be affected by this legislation." |
