Abstract/Contents:"Managing an old irrigation system is a challenge and the club made the right decision by concentrating on improving the water supply first. This has saved considerable maintenance time and made the watering system reliable." Presents an automatic sand filtration system powered by solar energy installed at Maitland Golf Course, which irrigates all its fairways with effluent water. The irrigation system was experiencing a lot of blockages in the pop-up line, which was impeding a good watering schedule. Discusses how the system works to provide a long term solution for sand filtration.
