Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the differences of peat, muck and humus, as these terms are often confounded with one another. The usefulness of peat and muck as a turf fertilizer is then discussed, and it is concluded that no evidence exists that they offer any substanital benefit to the turf, in fact, their application is usually injurious. Manure offers more boons even than humus. Although as topdressings, peat, muck and humus can be of benefit, their use as a fertilizer is strongly cautioned against. |
