Abstract/Contents:Describes the unique course in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Golf is played on a course that is almost completely sand. "Grass is only a memory and there isn't a tree in the area." The "greens" aree black oiled sand. In 1948, the Dhahran Golf Association was formed. The purpose was to construct a eighteen-hole golf course, to establish USGA Rules of Golf, and to build a clubhouse. All of these goals have been met.
