Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the different types of turf being used across the United States. Areas visited include the West Coast, the Bay Area, the Los Angeles area, and the Omaha area. Also covered was the plan to release the Z-52 strain of Japanese lawngrass. Includes results of combination turfgrasses and descriptions of diseases that are damaging the area such as crabgrass, leafspot, dandelions, chickweeds, and English daisies. Methods of assisting turf growth that are mentioned include aeration, frequent mowing, and better mowing machines. |
