Abstract/Contents: | "Management strategies that have shown to improve drought stress tolerance by improving the soil environment are: correcting soil nutrient imbalances, increasing soil available calcium levels, reducing existing compaction, reducing thatch levels, avoiding compaction development, and improving soil structure. Materials that have shown an ability to improve drought tolerance by reducing the turfs' water needs are: soil wetting agents, fungicides that reduce root damaging diseases, insecticides that control root damaging insects, supplemental phosphorus applications, and high potassium fertilization." |
