Abstract/Contents:"...the turfgrass canopy is formed by overhanging foliage. Microenvironmental conditions within the turf canopy can vary markedly from ambient conditions and can greatly affect the activity of organisms (i.e. turfgrass diseases)." Discusses the issues relating to the effects that turfgrass management practices have on the canopy environment. Topics include: turfgrass canopies altered by management practice, Tall Fescue and brown patch disease, whether increased canopy density and increased cutting height are positive attributes or potential problems, and why high density turfgrass canopies sustain increased patch disease.
