| Abstract/Contents: | "In a solution-culture experiment in a controlled environment, seedlings of four native grasses of contrasted ecology were compared with respect to their response to manganese concentrations over the range 5-200 mg/1. The order of susceptibility to manganese toxicity (Arrhenatherum elatius > Agrostis tenuis > Festuca ovina > Deschampsia flexuosa) is inversely correlated with the ability of these species to colonise acidic soils." |
