| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses difficulties which can arise on a golf course due to winter weather and the wear caused by continuous play. Specifies the following areas as being important to maintaining playing quality and presentation year-round: initial course design and construction, general management, winter maintenance practices, careful judgement as to when spring maintenance practices should begin, rerouting cart paths, using winter greens and at times, the restriction of play during adverse weather conditions, and areas of initial course design and construction. |
