Abstract/Contents: | The Ladies' Putting Club, of St. Andrews, Scotland, is a ladies' club. Most of the members are women, and is a private group. They use the 18-hole putting course called "The Himalayas", a very bumpy, and popular putting course. It is a very cheap course to play on, and occupies about 3 acres. The group was founded in 1867, by men in the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, for their female relatives. Since this course is not strenuous, it was considered perfect for women of the time. Today the club has 200 members, and is a popular tourist spot, and even George Bush is a fan. |
