| Abstract/Contents: | After the attack of fusarium blight on Kentucky bluegrass turf, five commercial and two experimental fungicides were applied to different plots to evaluate effectiveness. Also used were soil fumigants, in order to control nematodes, because it has been proven by Dr. Joseph Vargas of Michigan State University, that fusarium blight is often associated with high nematode populations. Treatments applied to the 1,000 square feet of turf were; Tobaz (2 oz.), Fore (8 oz.), Fungo 50 (4 oz.), Tersan 1991 (8 oz.), Tersan LSR (8 oz.), BayDam (4 oz.), R-24952, a Stauffer Chemical Company systemic fungicide (4 oz.), the Sub-Air with and without Fumazone, and untreated check. The only treatment that worked was Tersan 1991. Fore and Tersan LSR also did well. |
