Abstract/Contents:Describes how ground newsprint, yard trimmings, cotton gin trash and wood chips help conserve soil moisture, control weeds, and improve cotton yields. Discusses the various tests that were performed to reach this conclusion, during a period of three years at the Tennessee Valley Substation, located in the major cotton producing area of Alabama.
