Abstract/Contents: | Presents a brief summary of the known and suspected benefits of soil microorganisms on turfgrass. The effects of composts and other microbe-containing soil amendments on physical properties of soil, soil chemistry and nutrient availability, thatch control, and pest control are discussed. Factors that influence the effectiveness, or ineffectiveness, of microbe products under various conditions are also discussed. Includes a list of suggestions for recognizing legitimate, scientifically tested microbe products. |
