Abstract/Contents:"Fungicides were applied with a CO² pressurized (34 psi) sprayer equipped with a flat-fan (8010) nozzle, and calibrated to deliver 2.5 gal water per 1000 sq ft. Bayleton 1G was applied with a shaker jar. Treatments were applied on 7, 14 or 21 day intervals on the dates footnoted in the data table. Soil was a Chillum silt loam with a pH of 6.4 and 3.4% OM. Turf was mowed to a height of 0.60 inches, and was fertilized with 2.0 lb N/1000 sq ft/yr in the fall. Plots were 5 ft x 5 ft, and were arranged in a randomized complete block with four replications. Percent of plot area blighted was assessed visually on a linear 0 to 100% scale where 0=entire plot area green and healthy, and 100=entire plot area blighted. Ratings exceeding 2% blight would be considered unacceptable for golf course greens and tees. Disease pressure was severe. Seven days after the initial application all treatments provided acceptable disease control, however, by 14 days after the application (i.e., 24 Jun) only plots treated with Banner MAXX + Daconil Ultrex or Banner MAXX + Heritage were disease-free. Betweeen 1 and 15 Jul, the aforementioned tank mixes provided exceptional (i.e., 0% blight ) brown patch control. Good control was provided by CGA-BMP (1.112 oz on a 14 day interval) and CGA-173506 (both rates) during this period. Blight data, however, did not vary significantly among all CGA-BMP treatments at this time. Between 22 Jul and 2 Aug, excellent control was provided by CGA-173506 (0.285 oz last applied on 15 Jul), and Banner MAXX + Heritage (last applied 1 Jul). Brown patch resurgence (i.e., more disease than observed in non-fungicide-treated plots) was evident in CGA-BMP (21-day treatments)-treated plots on 2 Aug. Bayleton 1G provided unacceptable control on all dates except 17 Jun."
