| Abstract/Contents: | This study included ten vegatative and ten seeded experimentals and/or standards. The seeded plots were planted using plugs of seedlings started in the greenhouse. The Nebraska study was affected by an early freeze during October of 1991. Several buffalograss genotypes, especially those with southern origin, had some winter damage. This is reflected in the data, but no attempt was made to replant any of the damaged plots. This damage shows up in the winter survival and spring greenup data taken in May, but it also is evident in other data taken during the year (Table 1). Table 1 relates the following data regarding the performance of buffalograss cultivars and selections during 1992 in the National Evaluation Trial planted in June of 1991: 1)quality, 2)color, 3)winter survival, 4)spring greenup, 5)fall dormancy, 6)density and 7)cover. |
