Abstract/Contents:Quantitative data are tabulated on morphological characteristics measured on nail-varnish replicas of the leaf surface of seedlings of 14 varieties, both with and without gibberellin treatment. These data, together with drawings prepared with the aid of a microscope, enabled positive identification of Merion, Alicja and Ottos to be achieved, while the other varieties could be assigned to four distinct groups. In a tentative key, use is also made of data on the phenolase reaction of the florets, recorded in an earlier investigation. (See also PBA 46, 10180).
