Abstract/Contents:The author examines cultural worm controls through the manipulation of the soil environment to reduce casting problems. Describes factors that influence worm populations which include: soil texture, pH, moisture, temperature, aeration, the presence of inorganic salts, and food availability. Discusses how to manipulate these factors to control worm activity. Also describes several worm species found in the United Kingdom.
