| Abstract/Contents: | "The array of communication tools available to public practice professionals are often inadequate to meet the changing demands upon the systems managers. Extended project development periods contribute to the lapses in communication between the preliminary engineering, construction, and maintenance phases of a project. The Texas Department of Transportation, Division 18-L, landscape architects sought a "new" approach to provide the opportunity for product innovation by developing standard specifications and construction details for proven erosion and sediment control products. This presentation focuses upon the process for selecting the standard specification as a tool to implement state-of-the-art erosion control technology." |
