| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the maintenance requirements of artificial surfaces for hockey fields. Requirements discussed include: rubbish collection, brushing, moss control, topdressing, marking out, and tear checks. Describes one of the most common problems associated with artificial turf as insufficient sand levels. Highlights the pros and cons of artificial and grass surfaces. Grass offers a more effective use of space and is easier on players' joints but costs more and is not suitable for League matches. |
