Abstract/Contents:"An investigation programme was carried out in Bavaria, in which 21 slag grass areas were examined in three different regions. It appeared that with an average 34 MN per square meter the carrying capacity of the areas was even sufficient for fire bridage roads. The permeability values were, however, not quite satisfactory. Extremely high Kf=values up to 3.6x10⁻⁴ m/s cause moisture losses, whereas low Kf-values of 6.8x10₋₉ m/s do not guarantee to requirements concerning the seeping capacity. On the basis of 8 selected areas a recommendation was developed concerning the grain distribution of the trestle building material when producing it. This is the basis of a construction system which meets the requirements as far as carrying capacity, permeability and vegetation-technical qualification is concerned."
