Abstract/Contents:Describes the difficulties encountered by the author, who was hired by the Moscow Country Club in Russia to help save the dying trees. When the author suggested that a sanitary cut of 600 trees was necessary to eliminate heavy bark beetle infestation, the club hired Ralph Osterling Consultants Inc. (California) to help. The combined sanitary cuts and tree pesticides supplied by Osterling helped save many of the trees. Also describes the tree care plan developed for the club, which includes: sanitary cutting, injecting trees, fertilizing, improving drainage, organizing a reforestation program, watering, attracting wildlife, and monitoring.
