Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the research involving pesticide use in the turf industry and groundwater contamination. Suggests that because the research involved row crops, it should not be applied to pesticide use on sod. Describes research conducted in Georgia in which pesticide presence in the soil and in the grass was measured. More pesticide was found to have been taken up by the sod than was left in the soil. Suggests that groundwater contamination may come more from leaks or spills rather than through proper pesticide application. |
