Abstract/Contents: | Discusses The contamination of ground and surface water from cow manure in Erath County, Texas, and presents solutions to the problem. The engineering firm of Camp, Dresser and McKee and the Texas Institute for Applied Environmental Research participated in a study directed by the Brazos River Authority which determined that compost was a marketable product that could be processed from manure. Assesses the possibility of blending compost processed from manure with topsoil for use in construction and landscaping, on agricultural land and along roadways to ensure prompt vegetation growth and reduce erosion. |
