Abstract/Contents:Profiles a nine-hole addition to a golf course in Monticello, Utah. The land was the site of the Vanadium Corporation of America from 1941 to 1960. The facility produced uranium-vanadium sludge for use in the Manhattan Project and had contaminated the land with radioactive waste. The Department of Energy has cleaned the site and both the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy have approved plans for a golf course on the site. The land cleaning is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 1999.
