Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the benefits of environmental landscapes. While they may be harder to mow around they also lesson some burdens on maintenance, making it all worth the effort. These landscapes require less pesticide and fertilizer use, do not need to be mowed as often, the periodic burning (or mowing) mimics the natural prairie cycle and is better for the environment. Minimizing pesticide and fertilizer use improves the aquatic life and water systems, and native plants provide the best food sources. |
