Abstract/Contents:"The conidial stage of Claviceps purpurea overwintered on the grass Poa annua during 1982-83. Successive infections occurred in mild periods throughout the winter and produced honeydew containing masses of conidia. The fungus had previously been thought only capable of overwintering in the form of ergots (sclerotia) in the British Isles."
