| Abstract/Contents: | Describes a study that investigated mowing height, rolling, rolling frequency and initial testing of surface hardness levels of greens and how they relate to the distance a golf ball will travel on a putting green. Treatments included: 2 different mowing heights, rolling vs. no rolling and double rolling. Effects on ball roll and surface hardness were analyzed. Results of the experiment suggest that non-rolled, low-cut turf is faster than the rolled, high-cut bentgrass. Rolling and low mowing also increased the surface hardness. |
