| Abstract/Contents: | Summarizes a variety of statistics on current golf course development. Discusses the 7% increase in beginning and junior golfers in the last year. The most significant increase was in the beginning golfers. About 40 percent of the golf course projects completed in 1997 were part of housing developments which has fallen in the past 10 years. The most popular name of golf courses is 'Riverside' which appears in the National Golf Foundation data base 46 times. Most of the rounds played in the U.S are of the 9-hole variety. Also includes information about the number of facilities in the U.S. and their accessibility. |
