| Abstract/Contents: | Several broadleaved herbicides were applied twice at various rates to evaluate the tolerance of Penncross creeping bentgrass to herbicides. Dicamba-DMA, dicamba-NA, dicamba-K and dicamba-A1 were applied at single application rates of 0.25, 0.50, and 1.0 lb AI/A. A 2,4-D + dichlorprop combination applied 0.50 + 0.50 lb AI/A was also included. Treatments were made on May 20, 1983 to the entire plot and on June 16, 1983 to half of the plot, equalling a 1x and 2x rate, respectively. Visual quality ratings were taken 4, 11, 27, and 31 days after the first application and 4 days after the second application. From this experiment it can be concluded that at normal rates (0.125 to 0.375 AI/A), dicamba caused no injury and may cause only temporary injury to bentgrass at higher rates. |
