Abstract/Contents:Presents a study to determine the influence of PCNB formulation, rate and timing of applications on turfgrass injury and/or disease enhancement on creeping bentgrass/annual bluegrass putting greens. PCNB (pentachloronitrobenzene) is used to control snow molds. The experiment was conducted on a sand based putting green. It was found that applying the fungicides at the recommended label rate resulted in no discoloration, but when subsequent follow-up treatments were applied there was slight to moderate discoloring. This study showed that putting greens are not as likely to show injury from fungicides, as the "in play" greens on a golf course.
