Abstract/Contents: | Various fungicides and fungicide combinations, as well as manure compost extract, uncomposted spent grain, whey extract, and uncomposted yeast were evaluated for control of gray snow mold on a bentgrass/Poa annua golf green. "Most of the fungicides provided good control of snow mold...The topdressings with manure compost extract, or uncomposted spent grain or whey were not effective. It is likely that more composting is necessary to increase the numbers of microorganisms in these materials, and that they need to be applied several times throughout the season in order to establish microbial activity before the snow mold fungus becomes active in the fall." |
