| Abstract/Contents: | "The control of weeds is extremely important from the aesthetic and practical point of view. This paper summarises the results of the research regarding the effectiveness of Paclobutrazol [(2RS,3RS)-1-(4-chlorophenyl)-4,4-dimethyl-2-(1H-1,2,4- triazol-l-yl) pentan-3-ol], one of the plant growth regulating substances - which has a high level of safety and is already used in the growing of produce for human consumption - in suppressing weeds. From the result of the experiment it became clear that, depending on their type, weeds differed in their physiological susceptibility to paclobutrazol. It also became clear that the susceptibility of weeds to paclobutrazol differed from the susceptibility of the turf grass. Results of these experiments point to the potential utility of paclobutrazol |
