| Abstract/Contents: | "A fine fescue turf evaluation trial was seeded 10 Sep 1997 at a rate of 6 lb/1000ft ² near Rolesville, NC. The trial consisted of commercially available and advanced experimental cultivars seeded into 3' x 5' plots. Each cultivar was replicated three times in a randomized complete block design. The trial received 4 lb N/1000 ft²/yr, 1" irrigation/wk in absence of rainfall, and no fungicides. The trial was mowed three times/wk at 2.5" mowing height. Rhizoctonia blight occurred throughout the trial from Jun-Sep. Visible foliar symptoms were rated throughout the period of disease activity. Significant differences in disease reaction were observed among cultivars. |
